Why does it cost to play lacrosse?

Lacrosse is a club sport at Miege. We are self funded. We will not turn away anyone that wants to play and have financial options available for those that need it.

When is the season?

The season is in the spring.

Do the teams cut?

Neither the boys or girls teams cut. The goal is for both teams to have both JV and Varsity. The number of teams willbe determined by the amount of student-athletes that play.

Can I earn a Varsity letter?

Yes. Varsity letters are given out at the discression of the coach.

Is the girls game as physical as the boys?

No. The girls are only required to wear eye goggles and a mouth piece. Girls helmets are optional.

What are the games like/what sport is it compared to?

They are fast paced and very fun. The closest sport comparison is basketball. Defense is very similar and the offense is a lot of the same movement to get open.

I have never played before, how can I get better?

The easiest way for players to improve is to play wall ball.

Why do I need to register with USA Lacrosse?

Membership is required by our league for insurance and other reasons. 

It must be current for the entire season for which you are registering.  If it is not, or if you are a new player, you will be directed to the USL website to either sign up for a number or renew your existing number. 

(If your number expires during the season you still must renew and USL will add the next 12 months onto the end of your current USL term.) This must be paid for separately on their website.
